Kwame heads our Energy and Infrastructure practice group with extensive work in various infrastructure projects in general and power plants and electricity generation in particular. His practice traverses the entire value chain including, guiding generation companies through the regulatory red tapes for entry into the Ghanaian energy sector, making input into feasibility studies for both green and brown field power projects, structuring suitable financial arrangements for delivering bankable projects, operation and maintenance agreements as well as commercial arrangements for the procurement of wholesale electricity.

He is one of the Legal Advisers for Volta River Authority with a portfolio of both hydro and thermal generation plants with an installed capacity of about 2000MW. He was part of the team that negotiated and arranged non-recourse project finance of US$350million for the expansion of the thermal generation capacity from single cycle to combined cycle at Aboadze.

He has been involved in the negotiation and procurement of crude oil and natural gas and arranging the relevant financing for such transactions. He was part of the technical team set up by the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum of Ghana to develop the financial structure for the establishment of LNG Terminal and regasification unit for the delivery of Liquefied natural gas for power generation in Ghana. He has negotiated various Gas Supply agreements for both pipeline gas and LNG.

He is also a core member of the derivatives team advising and guiding the mitigation of crude exposures of thermal generating company. His practice also involved advisory services to a consortium that bid for a twenty-five year concession to operate a hydro power station in Nigeria as part of the power sector-restructuring programme of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Other experiences include litigation of various suits in areas including intellectual property, engineering, procurement and construction contracts, land litigation and telecommunication infrastructure construction and related litigation and other commercial litigation.

He served as an arbitrator in at the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot both in Vienna and Hong Kong, three-time judge in Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition in Washington DC as well as Steson International Environmental Law Moot Court in Florida.
